With the CINEMA 50 Series 2, Marantz demonstrates that a home theater receiver can deliver much more than a spectacular cinematic experience. A design that aims to preserve musical emotion while bringing movies to life with remarkable immersion. An approach that reflects the sound philosophy that has distinguished Marantz for decades.
At its heart is nine-channel discrete amplification delivering 110 watts per channel into 8 ohms, combined with Marantz's exclusive HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules) technology. This architecture, paired with next-generation digital-to-analog converters, prioritizes precision, dynamics and refinement, whether enjoying two-channel music or a complete home theater experience.
Compatible with Dolby Atmos, DTS, AURO-3D and IMAX Enhanced, the CINEMA 50 Series 2 creates an enveloping three-dimensional sound environment. Its nine built-in amplification channels support configurations such as 5.4.4 or 7.4.2, while its 11.4-channel preamplifier outputs allow for even more ambitious installations with external amplification.
One of its greatest strengths lies in its advanced room calibration capabilities. The CINEMA 50 Series 2 includes Audyssey MultEQ XT32, while also offering an upgrade path through the Dirac Live ecosystem, all the way to its most advanced solution: Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART). This technology goes beyond traditional room correction by allowing speakers and subwoofers to work together to better control room resonances. Dirac Live features require additional licenses, sold separately.
Its connectivity is designed to meet the demands of modern entertainment systems. With six HDMI inputs supporting 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz, along with Dolby Vision and HDMI eARC compatibility, it easily accommodates modern televisions, video players and gaming consoles. The built-in HEOS platform, supporting services such as Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2 and Roon, also makes it possible to enjoy music without adding a separate network streamer.
A true favourite at Audiophile Experts, the CINEMA 50 Series 2 impresses us with its ability to combine the qualities of a high-fidelity music system with the flexibility of an expandable home theater. Its advanced room calibration potential, particularly with Dirac Live ART, makes it an especially compelling choice for those looking to go beyond a conventional installation.
Its timeless design, metal front panel and iconic circular display complete a product where technology remains dedicated to the listening experience.
Marantz musicality, remarkable cinematic immersion and advanced acoustic control that takes the experience even further.
