The first ever Marantz product came to life in a New-York basement in 1953. Founder Saul B. Marantz was a classical guitarist and was dissatisfied by the amplifiers of his time. He wished for an amplifier that could deliver pure musical reproduction, that could present music as it was meant to be heard. This is how the Marantz Audio Consolette came to be, the first of many world-renowned components the company created over more than 60 years.

Saul B. Marantz’ passion and his belief that nothing should get in the way of music became the company’s main philosophy through the years. To materialize this philosophy, Marantz employs world-renowned acousticians that work in state-of-the-art facilities.
