John Coltrane | A Love Supreme: The Complete Masters [Vinyl Records]


A Love Supreme is an album by American jazz saxophonist John Coltrane. He recorded it in one session on December 9, 1964, at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, leading a quartet featuring pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Jimmy Garrison, and drummer Elvin Jones. The album was released by Impulse! Records in January 1965 and it was one of Coltrane's bestselling albums and one of his most critically acclaimed. It is widely considered his masterpiece, as well as one of the greatest albums ever recorded. A Love Supreme: The Complete Masters is a collection of all the recording that occurred on December 9th 1964 and the following day, sourced from the original analog tapes for all tracks except LP 2/Side 4 tracks 3 and 4, which by necessity were sourced from digital copies. All tracks on LP 2 and 3 are previously unreleased, except Side 4 tracks 3 and 4, and Side 5 tracks 1 and 2, previously issued 2002; Side 5 tracks 1 and 2 are in stereo for the first time.
